11+ Workshops and Mock Tests
In addition to the after-school online weekly sessions for Primary English, Maths and 11+ prep, my colleague and I run in-person 11+ workshops and mock tests throughout the year. The children will be taught in small groups, enabling them to learn new skills in a supportive environment. Please see below for details and click this link to book a place for your child.
11+ English Workshop - 28th January 2024
This three hour English workshop is designed to give your child confidence for the English section of the Eleven Plus test. We will focus on comprehension, grammar, punctuation and spelling. The children will be taught in small groups, therefore enabling them to revise in a supportive environment.
11+ Maths Workshop - 25th Feb 2024
This three-hour Maths workshop is designed to give your child confidence for the Maths section of the Eleven Plus test. We will focus on mathematical word problems using games and engaging activities.
11+ Non Verbal Reasoning Workshop - 24th March 2024
This three hour Non-Verbal Reasoning Revision workshop is designed to give your child confidence the Non-Verbal Reasoning section of the Eleven Plus test. We will work through examples of all the question types, including Spatial Reasoning, and give strategies to help find the answers.
11+ Verbal Reasoning Workshop - 21st April 2024
This three hour Verbal Reasoning workshop is designed to give your child confidence for the Verbal Reasoning section of the Eleven Plus test. We will work through examples of the twenty-one question types that might arise and discuss best strategies to answer them.
11+ Practice Paper Workshop - 10th & 11th April 2024
This is a workshop running over two mornings in which we work through past 11+ papers with your child to build their experience in the questions they might meet in the test. It is important at this stage in the year that children feel confident both in knowledge and in what to expect in the test itself. We give valuable tips on exam techniques and strategies whilst creating a supportive learning environment.
Our two mock tests have different content and are based on our knowledge and years of experience of the 11+ test, following the same format and same topics (Maths, English and Reasoning Skills). The mock test will be conducted in an exam-type environment in order to give your child a sense of what they will experience on the day. We will spend time discussing exam techniques and strategies before the mock test in order to give them the best possible chance of success.

Following the practice test, we will give you feedback as to how your child performed and any areas that might need further work before the 11+ test in September. We hope that by giving your child a taste of the exam, they will be able to approach it with more confidence and a positive attitude. We will create a supportive environment in which your child can discuss any areas of concern and also celebrate their knowledge!
